After touring several industrial plants in college, Orlo switched majors from chemical engineering to Botany and began his environmental journey. He earned his MBA after serving in the Marine Corps, and then began researching cold climate passive solar greenhouses. He applied what he learned to building his own energy-planned home. Orlo founded Stitt Energy Systems (now The Stitt Group) to help others save energy and make the world a better place to live. He developed South Sun Estates on the Lake, the first energy-planned passive solar subdivision in Northwest Arkansas, and he is a Certified Green Professional and former HERS Rater. Orlo and his wife live in South Sun Estates in a net-zero energy home that produces enough solar power to run his Chevrolet Volt.
David helped build his family's first energy-efficient custom home when he was 12, and the building bug never left him. After earning a degree in Economics from Iowa State University, he moved to Minnesota and traded lumber for a building material wholesaler for several years. He returned to Arkansas in 1999 and joined the family business, eventually becoming VP of Sales and Marketing. David became CEO in 2015 and is a Certified Green Professional and former energy rater. He enjoys the outdoors and has a not-so-secret passion for fishing – his screen saver and framed pictures give him away. His favorite activities when not fishing are coaching his daughter's sports teams, traveling, and hanging out with his family.

Suzanne answered a Stitt help wanted ad back when newspapers were the only way to advertise jobs and all home plans were drawn by hand! Fresh out of school with a bachelor's degree in Architectural Studies, Suzanne admits she didn't have much background in passive solar design and energy efficiency. But today, she's a pro at both with certifications as a Green Professional and Active Adult Specialist in Housing. She enjoys the creative challenge of helping clients figure out what they really want in a home and says when you love what you do, it's not a chore – it's a privilege. Suzanne enjoys landscape photography, and she loves packing her camera in her Subaru and travelling unfamiliar backroads (preferably dirt) looking for great photo ops.
Chris really likes numbers – that's one reason he decided to get a bachelor's degree in Accounting. After spending several years in Los Angeles, he returned to the Midwest and joined Stitt in 2015 as a full-cycle accountant. Chris is responsible for all things financial, and he has a knack for finding ways to reduce costs. He says a side benefit of working at Stitt is feeling like he's making a positive impact on the planet. Chris' hobbies include cheering for the Oklahoma City Thunder, playing guitar, and spending time with his wife and daughter. He enjoys Thai food and is still trying to find a local café that serves milk tea boba!
When Mark isn't camping with his family or traveling to far-away places like Peru, Hawaii or Alaska, he can be found managing the construction of a Stitt home. Mark has a degree in Business Administrative Management and ran his own residential construction business for over 18 years. He joined Stitt in 2008 and has been building environmentally responsible custom homes ever since. Mark's respect for the environment came about early when he worked on a back country trail crew in the National Parks system. Spending weeks at a time on remote park trails, he was inspired by some of the most pristine terrain in the country. He heads out to camp in the parks with his family whenever he can.
