Our process starts with a site visit to assess elevation changes, existing trees, and other factors which will influence your home’s design. Then, our team will work with you to create a floor plan that fits your goals and lifestyle, using 3-D models along the way to help you visualize your new home. We can even incorporate details like home-for-life features, multigenerational areas, and storm safety features. We’ll maintain an open discussion about financing and budget throughout the process — and recommend cost-saving options to help you stay within budget. Once all preliminary plans are established, we’ll stake out your home on your property to confirm exactly where it will be positioned.
Before building begins, our team will create construction drawings that list specific dimensions and performance requirements for all the materials that will go into your home. Throughout the build process, we perform a number of inspections at strategic times: during foundation, during framing, after the Ice House Roof® is installed, after insulation is finished (we test for air infiltration), when the house is complete, and when the energy rater tests the home’s performance after move-in.
